On the 30th September 2007,  Jim Reeves fans from The Netherlands, Belgium and the U.K gathered together in Hilversum  to attend the Jim Reeves fan club meeting.  This meeting was extra special in that we celebrated the 25th fan club meeting since the fan club was founded 32 years ago.

Arie den Dulk hosted the meeting and introduced singers Henk Brederode and Eddie Punton who performed several of Jim's songs This year Henk sang a number of Jim's gospel songs and tracks from the Moonlight and Roses LP which Included  whistling several sections of tracks which gave them a new feel. Another new twist to this years performance was Eddie Punton sporting a red tux and a traditional Scottish kilt, he looked very smart and it created yet another talking point , do they or don't they wear anything under the kilt ?

Rare footage was shown of an interview with Jim Ed Brown and Mary Reeves together with more recent recordings from USA fan Louise England of the new plaque on the Shreveport "Walk of the Stars" and a look in the Texas Hall of Fame. The usual lottery took place with many nice prizes for all those lucky winners. The day was rounded off with Henk and Eddie performing several duets, once again a good time was had by everyone and friends old and new  enjoyed talking about the music of Jim Reeves, renewing old friendships and looking forward to the 26th Meeting !

Gerard van der Linden.

Eddie Punton informed us about the death of Mr. Ernie Nerie, aged 72,  from Edinburgh, Scotland who  had attened the fan club meeting only four days before.
